The Upstage Players of Lisbon New Hampshire community theatre group will be holding auditions June 7th and 10th for a fall production just in time to provide some music, wit, and historic reenactment depicting the politics and personalities of “1776″ during this election year. 1776 is a Broadway award-winning musical play based on events from May to July surrounding the signing of the Declaration of Independence with the most familiar cast to ever set foot on a stage with wit, acrimonious respect, humor, music, and history in the making! Auditions will be held in June to allow more time to prepare for this ambitious production. 23 males are needed between the ages of 16 and 74 and two women (Abigail Adams and the young bride Martha Jefferson).
Auditions will be held June 7th, from 6 – 9 pm at the Methodist Church on Main Street in Littleton, and June 10th from 2 – 5 pm at the Lisbon Town Hall. Auditioners are asked to bring their own music selection. An accompanist will be provided. A CD player will be available for any who wish to bring their own CD accompaniment. Lovers of history and historical characterizations who enjoy singing are welcome to audition. Community theater enthusiasts who enjoy production work in stage construction, costuming and other aspects, are welcome to volunteer for off-stage production work. For more information, call Director Barbara Ashley at 616-9711 after 5 pm.
